Got Milk!
The Good Cheer Food Bank last year served an average of over 700 families every month, many with children. Not everyone has access to milk and we are hoping to change that. Milk is an essential ingredient for growing healthy bones and teeth especially for children. The idea is to have a Milk Money sponsor each month so that we can consistently put milk on the table for our clients.

Coldwell Banker Tara Properties is Good Cheer’s first Milk Money Sponsor. Their participation during the month of July will provide the seed money to get the program off the ground. The food bank will soon be able to provide milk for every food bank client with Coldwell Banker’s help!

Today, July 16th, the Coldwell Banker Tara Properties office in Bayview is holding a BIG YARD SALE to raise funds for the food bank. They will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Gail Pierce who is spearheading the drive at the Bayview office says that “we had helped Good Cheer with their Capital Campaign yet we still wanted to do a little extra. We always have them in our budget and when we heard of the Milk Money idea we wanted to help out.”

Coldwell Banker Tara Properties is hoping to raise $700 this month to get the program started. They have been selling books ($1 paperbacks and $2 for hardbacks) at the Langley office and today they think the Bayview sale can bring in another $200. You can help by making a donation to the Milk Money Fund at any South Whidbey Coldwell Banker Tara Properties office.

This is a great opportunity for church congregations, businesses and other groups to pick a month and collect donations for our Milk Money program. Gail told me that the Langley Methodist church, where she attends, take in weekly donations of food for the food bank. Now the church has envelopes for churchmembers wishing to donate to the Milk Money Fund.
Milk Money fundraisers are incredibly rewarding and are a great way for any group to help keep South Whidbey hunger free!
Another Community Hero steps forward!
Thank you, Coldwell Banker Tara Properties.
Good Cheer!
